NTNU would like to procure at least 2 lasers, with an option for 5 lasers in the next 3 years.
The laser will be used to two-photon microscopy with calcium depiction in order to study brain cells in mice. The main aims are to understand more about how time, space, and memory are saved.
The laser must have 920nm wave length and 80MHz repetition speed, including the following specifications: Good resolution, stable operation, and low noise level.

Kavli-instituttet ved NTNU [the Kavli Institute at NTNU] has developed a new generation miniature two photon microscope (imaging system) as a critical tool in their study of the neural network in the medial entorhinal cortex of free-range animals (rats and mice). A critical part of this microscope is smart 920 nm femtosecond fibre laser. Under this procurement we want to purchase two smart 920 nm femtosecond fibre lasers, and also have the option for four additional units during the next 3 years.
