The Storberget contract is one of five substructure contracts on the Farriseidet – Porsgrunn project on the Vestfold railway. The contract mainly consists of one main tunnel of 4 700 m, a parallel escape tunnel of approx. 2 650 m, as well as a combined cross cut/escape tunnel of approx. 1 000 m.The Ministry of Transport will make the final decision on whether the stretch shall be constructed with single or double track most likely by the end of 2011. The decision on single or double track will be made before the tender documents are sent out to the qualified contractors. If the decision is for a double track, the cross cut on the main tunnel will be approx. 133 m2. If the Ministry decides for a single track, the cross cut will be approx. 85 m2.
