2026-01-07Screening 2026 - Examinations of LCD substances (Miljødirektoratet)
The Norwegian Environment Agency wants to follow-up the previous findings of LCD substances made in the recycling facility for EE-waste. The screening programme 2024 found high levels of LCD matter in and around such plants. We will continue to examine these substances at other locations and sample types in order to determine if the substances are found elsewhere than in the recycling facility and whether they are supplied to the environment.

The aim of this environment monitoring programme is to contribute to stopping the use and emissions of health and environmentally damaging substances. The assignment includes sample taking, analysis of environmental poisons and reporting of the results. The estimated value of the procurement is estimated to NOK 70,000,000 - 80,000,000. The Norwegian Environment Agency ́s budget limit for the monitoring programme is NOK 12,000,000 per annum.

The assignment includes collection of samples from Mjøsa and Femunden, analysis of many different environmental toxins and reporting of the results.
