Project county road 63 Korsmyra-Indreeide will protect the road from avalanches between Korsmyra in Stranda Municipality
And Indreeide in Fjord Municipality. Approx. 5.3 km of new road will be constructed, of which approx. 4.9 km are in a
Tunnel.
The project's location is partly in the Geiranger-Herdalen landscape preservation area and in the Unseco world heritage area (Vestnorsk fjordlandskap — Geirangerfjorden and Nærøyfjorden).
The entire stretch is also included in the list of National tourist tracks in Geiranger — Trollstigen. The project's geographical location gives increased focus on taking care of the surrounding environment for the area.
The contract T2 including tunnels bridge, deflection mound and road work is a turnkey contract. The work involves engineering design services for and the construction of an approx. 4.8 km tunnel in T 8.5 profile, with two portals of approx. 100 m altogether,
A technical building and complete electrical work. The tunnel must be certified as safe before hand over to the builder.
