The Agency for Urban Environment comes under the Department of Environment and Transport and is responsible, amongst other things, for the planning, development and operation of parks, recreational areas and municipal roads and streets. Responsibility for environmental health protection (air, noise, water, soil), which is not of a medical nature, also lies with the Contracting Authority.
