In order to increase the capacity on the Ofoten Line, the railway station shall be expanded to a station with 3 long tracks, approx. 1 100 metres, adapted for simultaneous arrivals which can manage minimum 750 metres long trains. From track 1 just west of the sub passage station on km 40, 13 - 40, 28, with entrance from east, a new sidetrack shall be developed.
