The Contracting Authority intends to procure a vacuum induction furnace. The Contracting Authority plans to use the furance for a variety of heat treatments (quenching if possible), refining and melting experiments with different types of raw materials (slag/metal based) and under vacuum or different gas atmospheres (inert, reducing and alternatively oxidizing).

2016-10-29High temperature thermogravimetric furnace (NTNU (The Norwegian University of Science and Technology))
The procurement will be of a thermogravimetric furnace in controlled atmosphere. The furnace must be able to liquefy different types of ore in a crucible. The furnace must operated with gas power throughout the furnace with reduced and inert atmosphere, and measure the weight-loss of the test.

2015-11-18Furnace for refining and casting (NTNU (The Norwegian University of Science and Technology))
The procurement includes a refining and casting furnace in a controlled environment. The oven must be able to make silicon liquid inside a crucible. It must be possible to add alloying constituents in the melting process during the experiment. During the refining process the crucible must be ‘Stirred’. After refining the melting, the substance shall be casted and direction solidified. See the attached tender documents for further descriptions and requirements.
