Deepening of Mortingbåen and four surrounding shoals to -14.3 metres (nautical chart zero) will result in extraction of 141,000 pfm3 of mass in total, over an area of about 30,000 m2. The measure involves drilling, blasting and excavation for barges. Prior to the start of construction, three existing navigation facilities and associated submarine cables must be removed from the site. The actual implementation will be traditional deepening work. Loose soil will be stripped to rock and excavated by a grabber for barges. Rocks in the sea will be drilled and blasted and then excavated.

Quantity calculations The deepening areas consist mainly of solid rock with the exception of the eastern side of Mortingbåen, where a layer of blasted rock remains from a previous deepening in 2003. At that time, it was deepened to -10 metres over an area of approximately 7600 m2. Based on geotechnical ground drillings, as well as information obtained regarding blasting that was carried out during a previous deepening, the Norwegian Coastal Administration estimates that the loose sand, gravel and blasted rock in this area has an average thickness of 1.5 metres. The total amount of loose soil at Mortingbåen is therefore estimated to be around 11,400 m3 .

65,000 m3 of loose matter will be deposited in the municipal landfill Kringleskjæret. while the rest of the matter will be divided equally between the Panorama and Fjordbase landfills.

- Kringleskjæret landfill site
There are three landfill sites for the reception of aggregates. Items related to one of the three landfills, Kringleskjæret, are set as an option. The municipal landfill depends on the necessary permits being in place before 16 June. Clarification on this option will be available before the contract is signed with the selected tenderer.

- Landfall at Kringleskjæret landfill
The work of making landfall with the masses at Kringleskjæret is also included as an option, and will be exercised
if Kinn municipality gets the necessary funding approved before 16 June. Clarification on this option will be available before the contract is signed with the selected tenderer.
- Turbidity measurements Kringleskjæret landfill
The option will be exercised if required for the authorisation by the State Administration.
The option may also be exercised if the necessary permits for the landfill site as a whole are not available.
