Kort beskrivelse:
The municipality shall construct the new Geithus bridge over the Drammen river/the river mouth from Bergsjø including alterations for the roads/new crossing for the new bridge. A preliminary project and a zooning plan have been prepared for the new bridge over the river at Geithus suspension bridge and adjacent roads toward Fv (County road) 145 in the west and the Geithusveien road in the east.

The bridge location for crossing the river has been the guideline when preparing the plan.
The length of the new Geithus bridge is approx. 110 metres and must be executed as a concret slate bridge with 5 spans and 4 pillar axes in the river. The bridge shall be constructed without foot and cycle lanes as the current suspension bridge shall take care of the foot and cycle traffic. Retaining walls at both ends of the bridge are included in the contract.

The current bridge with abutments, pillars and fillings must be continued as a foot/cycle road where the foot lane outside the bridge must be removed. The measure therefore includes the removal of the foot lane mounted on the outside of the current bridge and renovation works for remaining structures.

The measure includes, besides the alteration of the new road and new crossings, the construction of an approx. 430 metres new foot and cycle road, in parallel to the main road from profil 0-250 as well as connection roads on both sides of the river.
The current bridge with accompanying roads shall be in operation during the entire construction period. This also applies to all access roads to/from current roads.
