2024-04-10National monitoring of river mussels 2024-2029 (Miljødirektoratet)
The Norwegian Environment Agency wishes to continue the existing monitoring of river mussels in the period 2024 - 2029. A total of 40 locations, divided in A and B locations, shall be monitored during the period. The surveys have slightly different content and extent. Monitoring shall be reported once a year and with the final report after the monitoring period has ended.

The objective of the project is to monitor the status and trends for a selection of the most important brook crayfish population. The project shall, through the use of new technology, implement the monitoring of signal crayfish based on a fixed grid of areas. The project shall collect population density data for brook crayfish by using fish pots and pulse trawling, in addition to individual data such as length, sex, sexual maturity and the ecdysis status. The contract has 3 options.

2018-04-06National monitoring of river mussels 2018 - 2023 (Miljødirektoratet)
The assignment consists of monitoring river mussels (Margaritifora) in Norway. The species is listed under the vulnerable category in the Norwegian Red list for species (2015) and it, thus, to be seen as threatened. On the international red list (IUCN), the species is listed as very threatened and many stocks in Europe are rapidly declining. Norway has 1/3 of the known populations in Europe and >50 % of the number of mussels in Europe live in Norwegian river systems. Norway is thus responsible for the species.

2017-03-17Framework agreement for the mapping of biological diversity (Forsvarsbygg Anskaffelser)
The contract includes the mapping of biological diversity, including support/assistance for The Norwegian Defence Estates Agency's own implementation of this mapping and quality assuring the mapping data. The subjects for mapping shall include all types of terrestrical and limnological diversity, including nature types, game, alien species and red-listed species.
