The Ministry of Education and Research has been assigning the project ‘Testing and research of models for a more inclusive practise in nurseries, schools and before- and after-school care services’ to the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training. It is described in the assignment letter 17-19 pilots for more inclusive practices in nurseries, schools and before- and after-school care services — part 2: testing and research on models. The objective of this assignment is to gather additional knowledge on how the service for children and youths in nurseries and schools/before- and after-school care services can be improved so that it is well adapted and inclusive for all children and pupils, including strengthening the service for children and pupils in need of special facilitation. In other words, this includes both the general pedagogical and the special pedagogical service. The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training is therefore publishing this assignment regarding funding of research for the systematic testing of specific models to achieve this goal. The research shall examine the effect of the models for the well-being, development, learning, coping, childhood and learning environment and/or inclusion of children and pupils, primarily for nurseries and schools and secondary for the before- and after-school care service. The objective of the research assignment is to provide reliable knowledge that can be used for future policy development.

The purpose of the optional assignment can be the extension of the project after the agreed completion date, for example examining any long-term effects or follow up on unexpected or particularly relevant discoveries.

The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Research would like an option for an extension of parts of the assignment. The purpose of the optional assignment can be the extension of the project after the agreed completion date, for example examining any long-term effects or follow up on unexpected or particularly relevant discoveries. We ask that tenderers describe how such an additional assignment can be carried out and financed. The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training shall decide if the option shall be activated within 4 months prior to the expiration date of the contract. The exact date for the conclusion of the project will be determined as a part of the negotiations and will be stated in the agreement, as this shall be related to the scope of the project the tenderer must provide.
