The contract is for the construction of a new substructure for a double track railway from Espa at approx. 96,9 km to Furnesbakken at approx. 99,5 km, Tangenvika railway bridge, plus the adjoining work in the Espa area, as well as a substructure in the Furnesbakken area.
The work is scheduled to start in 2021 and be completed in 2025. According to the plan, the site must be in operation by the end of 2026.

A filling and other measures are to be established for the Tangenvika railway bridge, as well as alterations to county road 229. This also involves landscaping work along the accompanying county road 229 and on slopes to the north of the land abutment.

Tangenvika railway bridge starts with a land abutment and an anchoring plate in the open air zone at Espa and stretches to the land abutment in the open air zone at Furnesbakken.

Substructure from Tangenvika railway bridge until 99,5 km, including substructure work for the land abutment belonging to Tangenvika railway bridge. The contract also includes a mass storage area at Furnesbakken, an underpass for fauna, 2 technical buildings and roads.

Justification for cancellation: As a result of the extraordinary measures taken by the authorities throughout Europe in connection with the COVID-19 virus, considerable uncertainty has been associated with the execution and progress of ongoing projects in Bane NOR's project portfolio. This means, among other things, that Bane NOR continuously assess which procurement processes are to be completed, put on hold or canceled. With reference to § 21-4 of the Supply Regulations, Bane NOR unfortunately has decided, with immediate effect, to cancel the competition that applies for the turnkey contract “KS-2 Tangenvika railway bridge”. A decision on any new announcement of the competition will at the earliest be available when knowledge of the consequences for Bane NOR's project portfolio is established concerning this extraordinary situation.
