Sandefjord Treatment Facility was completed in 1976 as a mechanical treatment facility/primary precipitation facility. After an order from the County Governor, the facility is now to be expanded with a secondary treatment facility. The existing basins are to be built in and there will be constructions around the secondary treatment process. The new building will be constructed towards the south of the existing facility as a concrete and steel building that includes simple office functions/cloakrooms, ventilation installations, a biological process with basins in the basement, as well as pump screws in the protruding part of the west facade.

Sandefjord Treatment Facility will expand the existing treatment facility with a new biological treatment facility and flotation stage. The new building is to be integrated with the existing building, and a new roof is to be constructed over the existing basins, which are currently outside. The project will be carried out with the following contracts:

M1: Machine/process installations

B1: Building work, including heating, water and sewage, and HVAC and sanitary installations

E1: Electrotechnical installations

E2: Automation (operational control installations)

The following activities are to be carried out in this contract (B1), at the same time that the existing facility is in operation:

— construction of a complete new building for secondary treatment of sewage water, including connections to the existing treatment facility. The building must include the following functions:

—— pump room in the basement,

—— process hall with basins (biological basins and flotation, as well as chutes for transferring sewage water between the different process stages and to lead the cleaned sewage water to the outflow),

—— control room,

—— lift (person lifts),

—— switchboard room,

—— HC-WC and cloakrooms,

—— ventilation room,

—— blowing machine room,

—— room for new screw pumps,

—— walkways,

—— stores and chemical room,

—— ventilation, pressurised air, water and sewage, and lighting,

—— A superstructure is to be constructed over the old sedimentation basin in the existing facility.

— HVAC and sanitary installations are included in the contract

— excavation work for the site, including blasting work,

— foundations,

— development of a driving area along the west facade of the building, as well as the development of a driving area in the south east of the facility,

— constructional steel and concrete work,

— joinery and flashing and guttering work,

— welding and heat work,

— roof and facade work,

— steps, ladders and railings,

— external water and sewage (surface water management),

— work in the security area for the biogas facility.

There will be a supplement due to GEO technical surveys.
