The contract is for flood protection for a river stretch of approx. 600 m and the establishment of a new river promenade of approx. 450 m with the accompanying open spaces. In addition preparation for a future river promenade of 500 m.Flood protection:The flood protection work includes raising the river banks to a level that is secure from flooding. This will partly be done by raising the terrain and partly be establishing supporting walls. River slopes shall be secured from erosion. This will partly be done by establishing new pitching and partly by uncovering and — to the degree necessary — repairing/supplementing the existing pitching/stone filling. In addition some sills are to be established in the river. The bottom shall be lowered in the area around the railway bridge by casting a concrete slab under the bridge. The concrete slab shall be plastered at the bottom both upstream and downstream. The work also includes some habitat measures for fish.C. drawing B21-002.The main amounts are as follows:— Demolition of concrete constructions 230 tons.— Clearing fields approx. 10 000 m2.— Uncovering/excavating approx. 12 000 m3.— New erosion protection: 5 000 m3.— New filter layer: 2 800 m3.— Supplement of old erosion protection to the degree required appprox. 500 m2.— Bottom plastering approx. 900 m3.— Four bottom thresholds approx. 1 050 m3.— Extension flood mounds: 2 700 m3.— Concrete/lean concrete approx. 360 m3.The river promenade:A promenade shall be established with open spaces, asphalt and lighting down to the area by the old road pub. In addition the remaining area shall be prepared for a future promenade along the river. This involves the development of a base course/gravel cover. A land abutment shall be cast for a new footbridge and some other concrete constructions shall be made. There will also be some demolition work, mainly of concrete constructions.
