Overall and preliminary scope of benefits in the contract 80402:
In connection with construction of the new terminal at Flesland, a concrete bridge will be built for upper traffic plaza at the terminals east wall. The bridge will act as the access zone to the terminal and will be connected to the terminal by footbridges.
The upper traffic plaza will be undertaken as a 230m long driving bridge with off and on ramps at each end.
The bridge is designed with column pairs with 18m distance in the longitudinal direction and 15 m in the transverse direction.
The superstructure will have a cross section height of 1100mm in the middle of the bridge. The cross section height will reduce gradually after the column so that the side span appears slimmer.
The bridge will be performed in cast-in-place concrete and foundations laid directly on the mountain.Excess foundation will lie 0.5m under the projected terrain in the area.The columns will have a diameter of approximately 1100mm.
The abutments can be founded directly on the rock, alternatively on filling. Power supply to the Upper traffic plaza will be placed in one of the abutments.
Ground clearance under the bridge will be approximately 7m. The width of the bridge starts at approximately 5m and gradually increases to 25m to once again decrease to approximately 5m.
The cross section is divided into driving lanes/exit lanes and walking areas/furnishing zones. There will be a stone coating on the walking and furnishing zones, separated by curb against the wearing course on the road.
Guard rails to the outside of the traffic plaza shall comply with applicable regulations and be in accordance with the overall architecture of the project.
Draining of the traffic plaza shall be integrated with partially hidden drain pipes in the columns. Continuation of the water/waste water installations on the lower traffic plaza coordinated water/waste water on the lower traffic plaza.
Cable conduits and manholes for electrical and telecommunications installations shall be integrated in the construction.
The bridge will function as a set up for 3 walking bridges in steel from the terminal building.
Because of the placement and integration with other building in the area, emphasis must be placed on the interface and coordination.
The bridge is designed and dimensioned according to the Statens Vegvesen Håndbok 185 (Norwegian Public Roads Administration Handbook 185), dated 2011, and Eurocodes NS-EN 1990-1992.
