The works consist of the construction of a new Driva bridge on county road 62 in Sunndal municipality.
The bridge has a span of 110 m. The bridge shall be founded on a concrete land abutment that is to be founded on piles that stand on uncompacted matter. An interim bridge solution shall be established. The bridge can be constructed downstream from the existing bridge, founded on temporary foundations and used as an interim bridge. The contract also includes the demolition of the existing bridges. One is a truss bridge from 1914 and the other is a steel beam bridge with a concrete cover from 1984. An abutment shall be established and all the infrastructure included in the old bridge shall be kept and re-established in new bridge. There must be an agreement between the contractor and owners on how this will be kept during the construction period.
After the new abutments have been constructed, the bridge shall be moved to its permanent location.
The contractor is responsible for the temporary foundations and the method for constructing/moving the bridge as well as taking care of and maintaining the necessary infrastructure in the construction period.
The contract also includes the construction of interim roads in the construction period and the re-establishment of affected national roads after the bridge is completed.
After the traffic has started to use the new bridge in its permanent location, the side terrain by the road must be re-established. This also includes the river bed and river banks.
