The procurement includes approximately 3 500 m of construction of the E16 for stretch from Dølveseter - Bagn in Begnadalen in the municipality of Sør-Aurdal. The road width is 8.5 m.
1 tunnel, T 9.5, with a length of 650 m included the SRO and electrical. The concrete portal south side has a length of 45 m, and 10 m on the north side.
The average daily traffic (ADT) in 2011 was approximately 2 300 with 12 % share of heavy traffic vehicles. The road has a significantly increased daily traffic level during the weekends and holidays.
The current road is narrow, has several blind turns, poor road surfaces and is prone to landslides. The ground conditions are very much affected by exposure to the river Begna and steep mountain sides, but also in certain areas flat agricultural landscape.
Establishments are scattered on the route and many of the exits are badly designed with poor visibility.
