Rv 7 Sokna - Ørgenvika - contract 1

Statens vegvesen Region sør

New Rv 7 (National road 7) between Sokna and Ørgenvika includes construction of a new road section with a length of 16, 6 km. This means shortening of the existing road section for Rv 7 with 20 km between Sokna and Ørgenvika. The road section is partly following the existing section for the Bergen Railway and will mainly go through virginal forest terrain.
The works shall begin west of the centre of Sokna (road profile 1 000) and stretch out to the existing Rv 7 in Ørgenvika. The section is approx. 15 km long.
The road shall be constructed as road class S4 and contain i.a. 2 longer tunnels, 2 larger bridges in addition to other structures and considerable works in relation to blasting and excavation in the section with accompanying mass haulage.
The contract includes complete road construction with accompanying structures and complete water and frost protection inside the tunnels. In addition to the crossing area in Ørgenvika, a crossing area at Rallerud between the tunnels is also planned. The crossing may be excluded from the contract.
