Helsedirektoratet [the Norwegian Directorate of Health] will enter into a contract with a supplier for distribution/issuing of free condoms to selected target groups in Norway. The scheme is financed via the Government budget, Chapter 762, post 21, as a part of following up national strategies for improved sexual health. The scheme with free condoms started in 2000. 2012-10-19Delivery and distribution of free condoms (Helsedirektoratet)
Helsedirektoratet will in 2013 continue the arrangement with the delivery of free condoms to such groups and including youth health centres, teen target groups and young adults in Norway. This is an initiative in the national strategy for prevention of unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections including HIV.
The arrangement for free condoms for specific groups within the population started in 2000 and by 2011 had led to the distribution of a total of 5 400 000 condoms.
