2023-05-30Patrol boats for the Nornen class coastguard vessel - prequalification (The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency)
The five coastguard vessels in the Nornen class patrol in our coastal waters from the Swedish border in the south east to the Finnmarks coast in the north. These take care of functions such as:
- search and rescue
- fishing inspections
- environment inspections
- inspections of foreign vessels
- navigation safety
- oil protection
- security
- assertion of sovereignty
- military assignments in times of peace, crisis and war.
Each vessel is equipped with a fast patrol boat with a large operation radius.

The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) shall purchase tugboats to be used with the Norwegian Armed Forces Mabey Uniflote system. The procurement is part of Project 2584 - Tactical Element Bridge.
