On 1 January 2021, new regulations on the psychosocial nursery school environment in the Nurseries Act were introduced (Chapter VIII Psychosocial nursery school environment). Firstly, the new regulations require a zero-tolerance approach to offences and the prevention of cases where children are not safe and well. In addition, everyone working in a nursery has a duty to ensure that nursery school children have a safe and favourable nursery environment, and a stricter duty to act if a child is abused by someone working in the nursery.
The purpose of this assignment is to gain knowledge about how the nursery school sector understands and utilises the regulations. It will examine how the regulations are complied with and understood by the key stakeholders in the sector.
