Leasing and operation of a teaching concession for the farming of salmon and trout

Major growth in the aquaculture industry has led to an increased demand for competence in marine disciplines. UiT offers several relevant educations. The aim is that educations shall be relevant for the industry and society in general, and that education occurs in a collaboration between the university and future employers. The aim of the procurement is to enter into a contract for leasing and operation of a teaching concession for the farming of salmon and trout, so that UiT shall be able to offer attractive, relevant and qualitative good education in aquaculture with a focus on practical teaching methodology that ensures a basic understanding of production biological challenges. The agreement shall contribute to making the educations attractive and ensuring that UiT ́s candidates have the expertise requested by the industry. The contract means that the tenderer shall lease and operate the education concession on behalf of the contracting authority, use the educational concession economically and carry all operational risk connected to the contract. In addition tenderers shall provide farming facilities for teaching UiT ́s students and assist the contracting authority in connection with training. Based on the contract, UiT will apply to the Directorate of Fisheries for a teaching licence equivalent to 780 MTB, which is normally given for a period of ten years.

This rejection reason also includes incitement to, participation or attempts to commit such actions as included in Article 4 in the mentioned framework decision.
