The objective of the procurement is to cover the need for vitamin analysis kits on HPLC instrument by the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Unit for Biochemistry/Special Analyses Aker. The laboratory is an accredited laboratory that routinely analyses vitamins; Vitamin A (Retinol), Vitamin E (α-Tocopherol), Vitamin B1 (Tiamindiphosphate), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal-5-phosphate) and Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid). The laboratory receives patient samples from all over Norway and is one of the few laboratories that carry out these analyses in Norway. The expected volume is approx. 20,000 analyses per annum. Increased need can occur with a general increase in the number of samples due to population development and increased requisition of samples etc. The maximum volume per annum is up to approx. 30,000 samples. The samples are analysed on a High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrument from Thermo Fisher Scientific, Dionex UltiMate 3000.
