The project includes the expansion of Nordstrand Secondary School from a U3 to a U4 school. Moreover, a department will be established for 19 autistic pupils.
Nordstrand Secondary School is located in Nordstrandveien 29 in the Nordstrand district. The building was constructed in 1889. The existing building stock is regulated for conservation, and there shall be a school in operation during the construction period. The new building shall be located southeast of the site in accordance with the current zoning plan and approved framework permit.

The new building is over two floors and shall accommodate four classrooms as well as four group rooms, a woodworks workshop, a music room and an autism department which is divided into 3 zones. A basement will be established containing a changing room area and technical installations. The total gross area of the new building is 2,612 m².

The existing building was renovated in 2014 in connection with the conversion from a sixth form college to a temporary comprehensive school. Work will only be carried out in the woodwork room and gym building. The woodwork room will be altered to accommodate rooms for technology and design subjects, and two windows will be bricked up in the gym building.
