The Institute of Marine Research (the contracting authority) needs a new hire contract with a tenderer that provides satellite communication solutions for our vessels. The contracting authority operates six sea-going research vessels, of which five are owned by the contracting authority and one is owned by the Norwegian Mapping Authority. All have VSAT communication on Ku, Ka, and/or C-band.
The contracting authority would like to continue to use the aerials that are installed on the vessels.
The contracting authority is also open to receiving tenders for systems that use other aerials as long as this is thoroughly specified with the total/detailed cost distribution in the tender.

- 'Dr. Fridtjof Nansen' currently has Sailor 900 (8W BUC) Ku-band.

- 'Kristine Bonnevie' currently has Sailor 900 (8W BUC) Ku-band.

- 'G.O. Sars' currently has Sailor 900 Ka-band.

- 'Johan Hjort' currently has Sailor 900 High Power (20W BUC) Ku-band.
