PCR-kits for detecting intestine pathogens for Oslo University Hospital Trust

This procurement concerns PCR-kits for detecting intestine pathogens in faeces. The aim is to cover the need of the Microbiology Department at Oslo University Hospital for four years from the start of the contract. In 2019 the department analysed approx. 3700 Diarrhoea samples bacterial panel I, approx. 3700 Diarrhoea samples parasites, approx. 700 Diarrhoea samples bacteria panel II, approx. 550 Virus panel and approx. 1900 Norovirus.
The scope of the procurement is the number of sales units required to analyse this amount of samples, plus checks, re-runs, etc. The stated number of patient samples is an estimate for information for tenderers, and is not binding for future contract volume.
A major outbreak of diarrhoea/illness suspect to be due to intestinal pathogens will result in a large
increase in the number of test to be carried out. Taking this into account as well as a general increase in the number of patient samples due to population growth, any requisition of samples etc., the maximum scope of the procurement is 375,000 tests.

The contracting authority can extend the framework agreement(s) for up to one year at a time for a maximum total contract period of four years.

The framework agreement/s volume can be increased, either due to a general increase in the number of patient samples, or because there is one or more major outbreak of diarrhoea or illness where intestine pathogens are suspected, which gives an increase in the number of tests that are carried out. See Annex 7 Appendix 3 Options.

The number of samples is estimated to be able to increase by up to 15% due to population development, increased requisitioning of samples etc. A major outbreak of diarrhoea/illness that may be caused by intestinal pathogens will result in a major increase in number of tests to be performed. An option for the supply of additional tests to cover this need is therefor included.
