Direktoratet for høyere utdanning og kompetanse (HK-dir) [the Directorate for Higher Education and Competence] was established 1 July 2021, and is subsidiary to Kunskapsdepartementet [the Ministry of Education and Research].
The Directorate for Higher Education and Competence is responsible for development and management of the curricula in Norwegian and Social Studies for adult immigrants as well as work with quality in the training offers and competence development measures for teachers. The Directorate develops resources and realises measures that will support the local development and implementation work New curricula in Norwegian and Social Studies for adult immigrants which came into effect 1 August 2021, but are optional to use up until 1 January 2022. The curricula are regulated in regulations including regulations about curricula in Norwegian for adult immigrants and regulations about curricula in Social Studies for adult immigrants.
The purpose of the assignment is to gain knowledge about how the curricula and guidance materials are understood and practised at the training sites, and about how the training may change as a result of the new curricula.
