Ringsaker municipality will build a new nursing home in Moelv. Target groups to be built for, are persons with high care and treatment needs. To name a few major groups, people with dementia, multifunctional geriatric disabilities, end-of-life care, rehabilitation, both as a long-term and short-term stay, are amongst the services that will be needed. Younger people with functional disabilities are also a patient groups that needs an offer.

In order to be able to use the building as a multi-use building, health and care services combined with interaction with the rest of the population, there will be a need for a day centre, a laundry, a café/canteen and other natural common areas. There must also be space for work rooms for the home service.

The project places great emphasis on brining the nursing home closer to the municipality residents and in particular to central Moelv. Volunteers, neighbours and relatives will be invited into the nursing home with inviting common areas and outdoor areas. The nursing home will be a natural down town gathering place where patients and employees can utilise the facilities that down town offers.

The proximity of the nursing home to down town will result in the nursing home needing to connect with the existing infrastructure of water, sewage, roads, streets, parking places and outdoor areas/parks etc. The scope of this is not clear, but clearing of older infrastructure in order to satisfy new needs is extremely relevant. This may occur within the construction project and as coordinated projects.
