A survey of subjective opinions can be combined with more objective goals. The aim of the survey is to highlight the conditions — and the sum of different conditions — that are important for local politicians' motivation and recruitment, and their willingness to stand for re-election. In particular the survey must also give insight into the consequences of hateful remarks and threats to local politicians, which can form the basis for action-orientated measures to prevent and deal with hateful remarks.
