This will ensure good and identical data in libraries and will form a good basis for the development of joint services in the sector.

The procurement concerns bibliographic data in a machine-readable form, metadata, for use in Norwegian public and school libraries, and in the National Library of Norway. The external limit for the delivery is documented as that covered by the Copyright Deposit Act. The delivery must cover bibliographic data for Norwegian publisher literature, printed books, ebooks, audio books and textbooks/learning resources in primary and secondary schools and sixth form colleges. In addition, the delivery includes cover pictures. The scope of the delivery is estimated to be approx. 10 000 editions a year comprising approx. 6 000 printed books (including notes), split between approx. 50 % non-fiction and 50 % fiction, approx. 2 500 ebooks, split between approx. 20 % non-fiction and 80 fiction, approx. 1 500 audio books, split between approx. 50 % non-fiction and 50 % fiction, approx. 500 publisher textbooks/digital learning resources for primary and secondary schools and sixth form colleges and approx. 50 language courses. In addition, there will be cover pictures for the same editions.

The stated annual scope is only a non-binding estimate based on previous deliveries. The contracting authority's need will vary from year to year. The actual scope can therefore vary.

The data in the public and school libraries must make up a complete catalogue. The National Library of Norway will use the bibliographic data for the follow-up of copyright deposits, the production of national bibliographics and catalogues and for services that give access to metadata and documents.

The National Library of Norway will have full rights to the procured data, including the cover pictures. The National Library of Norway will decide how the metadata and cover pictures are used in the National Library of Norway, in other libraries and at other collaboration partners.

Norwegian must be used in the catalogue items.

The contracting authority otherwise has the right, but not an obligation, to ask the tenderer to send, supplement, clarify or give further details on received information and documentation in accordance with the terms in the Public Procurement Regulations Section 23-5.

A contract will be signed for 1 year, with an option for an extension for up to 3 years, 1 year at a time, i.e., a maximum duration of 4 years (1 + 1 + 1 + 1).
