Bergen Municipality manages the water and sewage systems which include over 100 km of tunnels and rock chambers.
The water and sewage installations in rock consist of a treatment plant for waste water and associated supply tunnels, sewage and discharge tunnels, as well as water treatment plants with pure water basins, and tunnels for supply and distribution to the subscribers.
The treatment plants for waste water and water treatment plants consist of larger rock chambers with several installations and open basins that require extra measures and equipment in order secure the rock in the rooms.
The agreement also includes safety measures for open air cliffs and cuts at access roads and open air facilities.
