The procurement is based on the strategy for competence for future nursery schools, revised strategy for competence and recruiting 2018-2022. The strategy must contribute to realisation of the intentions and requirements of the framework plan. The measures in the strategy must contribute to the further development of nursery schools as a learning organisation and strengthen the nursery school professional community.
The procurement concerns the development and implementation of further development programmes for nursery school teachers, and additional training for Early Childhood Education.
The goal is to provide development opportunities, and to facilitate career paths for nursery school teachers who wish to acquire professional competence by undertaking further education while working in a nursery school.

By developing their professional competence, nursery school teachers can also contribute to new research based knowledge in the nursery school based competence development at their own workplace within various specialised areas. The fact that multiple nursery school teachers will have the opportunity to continue their education can contribute to the development of a more research-based practice that supports the intention of the framework plan.
Beskrivelse av opsjoner:
The Norwegian Directorate of education and training has an option to expand the capacity per programme and the number of classes within the contract period.
Expansions will occur after dialogue with the contracted party.
