Ski municipality is the most populous municipalty and the central municipality in Follo, Akershus County. Ski municipality has more the 30 000 inhabitants. The entire Follo area has approx. 136 000 inhabitants. The total area of the municipality is 165,5 km.
Oppegård municipality, with its 37 km, is the smallest municipality in Akershus. The municipality borders towards Oslo in the north, Østmarka in the east, and Bunnefjorden in the west. Population: 27 148 per 3 quarter of 2017. Oppegård municipality is a health and environment municipality where the goal is to achieve a sustainable development deeply rooted in the political and municipal plans and steering documents.
The Norwegian Parliament has decided to merge Oppegård municipality and Ski municipality from 1.1.2020 as part of the future municipality structure. This can result in the framework agreement being transferred to a new municipal/legal unit.
