The avalanche protection tunnel at the Kroka parcel:
The tunnel (including portals) will be approx. 1 500 m and the implementation includes electrical and safety equipment in the tunnel. The total parcel length is approx. 1 900 m. The contractor must also anticipate operation of the tunnel, both electrical and roads, up until formal hand-over is completed (deadline).

The zoning plan for this parcel is under preparation.
The avalanche protection project will build on the zoning plan and zoning provisions, that are anticipated to be undertaken by Kvinnherad municipality in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Road expansion along the Folgefonn Tunnel — Årsnes stretch:
The current road has varying standards and widths and is located along the Mauranger Fjord. There is a need for different measures along the stretch with i.a. width expansion, improvement of the carrying capacity, improved drainage, curve improvement and new surface. The project places emphasis on the reuse of excess masses from the tunnel for road and curve improvement. Filling mass deposited at sea will be carried out in-line with the applicable regulations. The County Governor in Vestland is the authority here. Zoning plan processes have not started for the actual stretches for filling at sea. In connection with this work, there may be a need for voluntary contracts with landowners.

Model-based engineering design:
The contractor will be involved in the engineering design, but will do so in collaboration with the builder. BIM (Building Information Modelling) will be a joint work platform for this interaction. Through the joint BIM model, we will seek to ensure that all of the project participants work in-line and have good cross-discipline insight, at the same time that the builder gets insight at any given time. In parallel with this, the building must control the planning process according to the planning and construction act. The contractor will be involved early in the project. The objective is to utilise the combined competence of the parties and to achieve a better end product.

The contractor will thereafter implement the construction of the tunnel and improvement of the road stretch, but in this phase the interaction between the parties will also continue.
