Grefsenveien Øvre is a cooperation project between Sporveien, the Agency for Urban Environment and the Agency for Water and Sewage in Oslo municipality. The project is included in the investment portfolio 'Total plan for upgrading the tram infrastructure', which shall prepare the city for new trams. The project is for a complete road and tramline upgrade from Storo to Disen, approx. 500 m. The aim is to increase accessibility for trams and to facilitate cyclists. In addition, the water and sewage network on the stretch is to be renewed and the capacity is to be improved. A new pipeline for water shall be laid, amongst other things, which will help to ensure sufficient water supply to the city in the future.

The following extent applies to the project:
— Complete road and tramline upgrade from the upper side of Storo junction up to and including Disen stop, approx. 500 m. Includes, amongst other things, new tramline foundations, new guideways and new contact wire installations.
— Tramline adaptations in the corner to the north east of Disen, approx. 160 m. The outgoing tramline shall be moved sideways and the contact wire installations are to be upgraded.
— Renew and increase capacity in the existing water pipeline (DN 1200 mm) and two accompanying manhole groups.
— Renew the local water and sewage network and the accompanying manhole groups.
— Establish surface water systems in accordance with the current requirements, including a new surface water pipeline in Engveien (approx. 220 m), a rain bed/open infiltration installation in the turning loop at Disen and retention installations in the corner at Disen.

— Disen stop (incoming and outgoing stop) shall be upgraded in accordance with the universal design requirements.
— Appropriate and practical demarcations of the project are to be developed in the side streets. As a starting point, measures shall not be carried out in the side streets and the project border is the back edge of the pavement.
— New lighting.
— Street parking is to be removed.
— Establish a two-sided cycle lane from Lettvintveien eastwards past the Disen stop, as well as on the south side of Grefsenveien between Storo and Lettvintveien.
