The Norwegian Directorate of Education and Training is the Ministry of Education and Research's executive organ that was established in 2004. We are responsible for the development of nursery, primary and secondary and sixth form education. Our work field is broad and spans from syllabuses and pupil assessments to rules and inspections. We shall see to updated knowledge on conditions in the Norwegian education system through research and statistics.

Presentation training — our needs:

Our employees are often out at conferences and gatherings to hold academic discussions and discussions about projects we are working on. On these occasions, we meet several of our direct target groups, and the quality of the discussion says a lot about whether our messages get through and for the reputation of the Directorate.

Our employees have a need for consultancy services and training related to both crating and holding good presentations. We want a service provider who can offer a basic course, but also tailored plans for special occasions.

Media training — our needs:

The communications staff at the Directorate are responsible for the Directorate’s work with and handling of media. Annually we handle around 700 enquiries from the press and we aim to be an open directorate that provides good service.

Our press contacts work closely with the professional departments to find good and clear answers to questions. The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training is mostly used as an expert source and fact supplier, but we also handle large and difficult cases. If an interview is relevant, it is usually carried out by skilled persons and managers.

First and foremost, media training will make managers and employees feel more confident in meeting the press. There are several who think this is scary, and they may not reveal important information and make important points.

We want a service provider who can offer basic courses in media training. We also need ad-hoc training and tailored courses for some of our managers. We anticipate the set-up will be based on current diverse media channels — not only TV.

Media consulting — our needs:

Our press contacts use a lot of time on reactive press management. We will continue to do so. In the meantime, we have great potential to operate more proactive media work, in relation to both sales and outlay. The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training produces many statistics and is the Contracting Authority for a lot of research about nursery schools and schools. We want a service provider who will work with us, provide advice and give a lot of thought to possibilities and ideas to operate more strategic and proactive media work, both generally and connected to specific content.
