The aim of the procurement is to cover the Microbiology Department's need for PCR kits for detecting bowel pathogenetic microbes (bacteria, parasites and viruses). The Microbiology Department currently analyses approx. 4 200 faeces samples per annum by cultivation, PCR, quick tests and microscopy. The diagnostics shall be changed so that most of the samples are analysed by PCR. Cultivation will still be carried out for the PCR positive samples, control tests and as additional analyses in special cases. Nucleic acid extraction from the faeces samples shall be carried out with QIASymphony SP (Qiagen), and the PCR analyses shall be carried out with Roto-Gene Q 5plex HRM (Qiagen). The analysis programme Rotor-Gene Assay Manager will be used for interpreting the amplification curves, as well as manual interpretation. The offered tests must be able to be carried out with this nucleic acid extraction and on this equipment.
The contracts' total value, including extensions, is estimated to be between 2 000 000—6 000 000 NOK.
