The contract work comprises the expansion of the existing road on a stretch of approximately 3.3 km. A new footpath shall be established along the entire route and the road shall be expanded to 2 lanes. A new Water and Sewage installation shall also be lain in the new footpath along the entire stretch.
Large sections of the existing road are planned to be included as part of the new road. Traffic deviation in the project will be demanding, as there is dense settlement along the entire project. The road is a school road and particular consideration must be given to cyclists and pedestrians. The project includes the demolition and establishment of two smaller bridges. The size of these at Strømsnes II is approx. 11,4 m x 9.0 m (w/l) and Strømsnes III approx. 11,0 m x 26,0 m (w/l). To manage the traffic, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has decided to divide the bridges into 2 operations per bridge. A degree of minor works must also be expected on private properties.
