NP is looking for a shipping company to manage the institute's research vessel R/V Lance http:/www.npolar.no/no/om-oss/stasjoner-fartoy/lance/index.html
The management contract shall be valid from 1.1.2017 and it will be valid for 1 year. The shipping company shall make daily decisions on behalf of NP. The shipping company shall, thus, in accordance with normal good practice, be responsible for the manpower, technical inspections, repairs, classifications and normal maintenance, and otherwise in all respects ensure that the ship is kept presentable and in seaworthy condition, and maintain all its certificates.

Tenderers must be able to document experience with the operation of seafaring research vessels or equivalent advanced specialised vessels. Account and reference list. Tenderers must be able to document solid experience with operations with ice-breaking vessels in icy polar waters. Account and reference list. Tenderers must be able to document a certified system for maintenance. Account and a copy of any certifications. Tenderers must have a quality assurance system and established operation procedures for ensuring personnel and material safety. Account and a copy of any certifications. Tenderers must document sufficient personnel reserves with relevant background from equivalent vessels so as to quickly cover any occasional vacancies, extra manpower needs and changes in the annual programme.
