This notice is for language practice services that shall be included as a measure in the Norwegian tuition for immigrants and refugees in Tromsø municipality.

The law on the introduction scheme and Norwegian tuition for newly arrived immigrants §3 states that the municipality shall see to an introduction programme for newly arrived immigrants who live in the municipality.
The introduction programme shall, at a minimum, include Norwegian tuition, social studies and measures that prepare persons for further training or for working life. Tromsø municipality's delegation rules give Voksenopplæringa (adult tuition) in the municipality responsibility for tuition in Norwegian and social studies. Language practice in a workplace is included as a part of the Norwegian tuition for persons included in the introduction programme. Participants combine Norwegian teaching at school and language practice at a workplace in the period designed for this combination.
Language practice shall give participants the possibility to practice and develop the Norwegian language in a real work situation, including learning formal and informal codes in working life and as work colleagues. Language practice shall be meaningful with a view of further language development and it shall follow the participants' individual plans. A language practice place must be as close as possible to the individual participant's individual plan. Alternatively, a language practice place can be within the same sector.
