The Department of Medical Microbiology (AMM) receives approx. 20 000 samples every year (equivalent to 60 000 analysis results) to test for Chlamydia trachomatis.
A substantial and increasing proportion of these samples are also tested for Mycoplasma genitalium, and we are also receiving an increasing number of requests to test for Neisseria gonorrhoeae using gene technology methods.
Three different PCR methods are currently used to test for these agents. This is resource-intensive and presents us with logistical challenges which we want to overcome. We are therefore interested in including all these tests in a single run (multiplex assay) in order to rationalise and streamline our diagnostics for these agents.
This has been announced as a 'Direct purchase agreement' and was published in the TED database on 23.10.2013.

Replies received from Bergman Diagnostika AS; Bio-Rad Laboratories; Medical Wire and Equipment Norway and Montebello Diagnostics.
The department currently has the following instruments: Tecan Evo freedom 150 for pipetting; EasyMag from BioMerieux for the extraction of nucleic acid and CFX 96 from Bio-Rad for real-time PCR. If the reagents are not compatible with our instruments, instruments and consumables validated for the analyses must be included in the tender.
The framework agreement will be established for a period of two (2) years, with the option of extension by up to 1 + 1 years. The agreements will run from the date of signing.
The estimated value of the agreement is approx. NOK 3 000 000 excl. VAT per year.
