Evaluation of the guidance scheme for newly trained new employed teachers in nurseries and schools

As a result of the white paper No. 11 (2008 – 2009) The teacher – The role and education and white paper No. 41 (2008–2009) Quality in nurseries, the scheme with guidance for newly trained teachers and nursery teachers is now in the process of becoming an ordinary scheme in all of the country's municipalities. The intention is laid down in a contract between the Ministry of Education and Research and KS. The scheme was implemented for new teachers autumn 2010 and for new nursery teachers in 2011/12. The aim of the guidance scheme is to ensure a good transition between education and profession, and to contribute to recruit, develop and keep skilled teachers in nurseries and schools.
The aim of the evaluation is to examine whether the intention with the scheme has been achieved. The evaluation shall highlight both the actual tutor education and how the tutor scheme functions.
