This phase shall, according to the plan, be completed summer 2015 and opened for ordinary use the same autumn.
Phase 2 consists of exhibition areas and premises specially adapted for the school service. A preliminary project has already been worked out for the construction project (also under the direction of Statsbygg and the detailed engineering design services are planned to start in 2015 subject to a start-up grant being granted in the national budget.
The exhibition project shall be carried out as a freestanding project under the direction of the University Museum but in close cooperation with Statbygg's construction project.
The exhibition's subject foundation is the museum's natural history collections and natural science research, as well as historical scientific aspects connected to this. Areas will also be put aside for temporary exhibitions.
A management group has been established that has the overall responsibility for the exhibition project.
The exhibition project will be responsible for the exhibitions being ready when the newly renovated museum building reopens. The Exhibition Project consists of different internal work groups and support functions, an externally engaged project manager (this procurement), external designers/stylists and other external actors.
The work with the development, engineering design, delivery and assembly of new exhibitions will consist of a broad spectrum of subject areas that are highly complex.
The aim of the procurement is to join up with competence in project management for the entire process. At first this work will comprise working out a preliminary project that shall be completed by summer 2015, with options for continuing the work up until the museum reopens with new exhibitions.
The project management shall manage the project and all the accompanying processes as regards time, finances, quality, and the procurement of all the necessary services for completing the project.
