Customer objective.
Helse Vest RHF primary purpose is to conclude an agreement for the purchase and maintenance of a software system for laboratory manufacturing, tracking and documentation to support the services offered within the cell therapy field. It is also a goal that the solution will contribute to quality assurance and research.
Background to Contract.
To ensure patients undergoing advanced cell therapeutic procedures a safe treatment, a laboratory manufacturing, tracking and documentation system is required that recognizes and integrates all steps of the process, from cell harvesting to freezing and storage of the cells, and final, infusion of the cells to the patient. The tracking and documentation system must meet the requirements of the Regulation on requirements for quality and safety in the handling of human cells and tissues (FOR-2008-03-07-222), Biobank Act (Act of 2003-02-21 # 12 on biobanks) and ISBT 128 (the global standard for blood, tissue, and organ identification). The system will, in addition to more efficient and accurate diagnosis and treatment, provide benefits in terms of increased availability of data for medical research. Such a solution would facilitate communication among the many players in the process, which are located in different areas of the hospital.
