The need for a capacity project is a result from the lack of capacity in the current airport terminal and the inability to ensure the anticipated traffic growth expected within domestic, foreign and offshore travellers travelling from Western Norway.
The existing airport terminal (Staelitt) Shall be continued to be integrated with T3 (the new terminal). Together they will constitute the future terminal complex at Flesland.
The upgrading of the existing terminal shall be in terms of increased capacity, enhanced functionality or raising the general standard contained within this capacity project.
The capacity project consists of three independent projects:
1 Construction of a staircases in front of the main entrance (1500 m2 floor space)
2 Addition to the north wing (400 m2 floor space)
3 Rebuilding of passenger bridge 21 (100 m2)
The projects will be implemented as general contracts. Delivery / installation of lifts and escalators shall be carried out as side contracts. The general contractor will have the coordination and progress responsibility for these side contracts.
