Lørenbanen - O1 – Superstructure

The Lørenbanen project includes a 1.6 km long double track metro stretch of tunnel between Sinsen on Centrumsbanen (metro ring) and Økern on the Grorudbanen, with an underground station on Løren of which approximately 1,100 m rock tunnel and approximately 500 m outdoor rail track (including a concrete tunnel). In addition, there shall be established a new substructure and superstructure of approximately 500 m stretch on Grorudbanen between Hasle station and the culvert towards Økern. The scheduled completion of the project is during the course of 2016.
The implementation of the project provides the basis to take advantage of the metro system's total capacity better than today within three main areas:
1 Offload the shared stretch of Tøyen – Majorstuen through the city center with one train from the Grorudbanen, so that Østensjøbanen can achieve a higher frequency from one to two trains per fifteen minutes.
2 The establishment of a new track connection for a direct line between Grorudbanen and the metro ring towards the north.
3 The establishment of Løren station in the urban area on Løren and link the new residential areas to the metro.
The project shall be carried out in several contracts.
This procurement applies for the contract for "Lørenbanen - O1 – Superstructure" which includes:
1 ) Superstructure works: (ballast, rails, sleepers, turnouts), 1600 m two-track stretch.
2) Traction current work
3) Grounding
4) Noise reduction measures (sleepers and ballast mats)
The estimated construction period for this contract is approximately 1.5 years. The first part of the works is to be performed in a train stoppage period (23/06/2014 - 06/07/2014), the demolition of the existing pavement that also includes the demolition of turnouts at the start of the stoppage period. Then the establishment of a new superstructure for Centrumsbanen (Nov. - Dec. -14 and February -15) Finally, the remaining superstructure works for the entire Lørenbanen shall be conducted during the period of June 2015 to December 2015.
