Evaluation of optional subjects for secondary schools

From the school year 2011/2012 it was decided that optional subjects should be introduced for school years 8 - 10 in secondary schools.
From the school year 2014/2015 it was decided that optional subjects shall be introduced for all classes in secondary schools, with a total of 14 optional courses with curricula and guidelines.
These optional subjects are: design and redesign, research practices, technology practices, physical activity and health, international co-operation, media and information, production of goods and services, audience and stage, democracy in practice, voluntary work, cultural heritage, tourism, natural environment, outdoor activities and traffic/transport.
We request this evaluation to find out if optional subjects have contributed to variation and a more practical training for the students. In this context, we wish to determine whether students are genuinely able to participate in the provision of optional subjects, and feel that they have real choices. Furthermore, it is desirable that the evaluation looks at conditions at the schools to achieve the intention of optional subjects.
