E39 Rogfast, directional core drilling from a drilling ship

E39 Rogfast is a subsea road tunnel between Randaberg and Bokn, with an arm up to Kvitsøy in Rogaland. Seismic surveys(in the sea and on land) and directional core drilling from land have previously been carried out. Directional core drilling shall now be carried out from a drilling ship in an area of the tunnel route where there is no rock exposure above sea level. Four holes shall be drilled through registered zones of week rock in the area. Cores (diameter approx. 55 mm) of the rock shall be brought up in order to map the geology and location of the rock. It is a prerequisite therefore that the core drilling is carried out so that the core loss and loss of any dragged material (clay etc.) is kept to a minimum. The preliminary placement of the core drilling holes are shown on the attached map. In addition to bringing up core samples of the rock, water loss measurements shall also be carried out. There is also an option for an acoustic televiewer and logging seismic speed (P-waves and S-waves) in the core drilling holes. In addition to directional core drilling, rock type samples shall be taken from rock exposures on the seabed with a ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle).

Beskrivelse av opsjoner:
Option for surveys in the core drilling holes with acoustic televiewer, as well as logging seismic speed (P-wave and S-wave). The intention is to map the number of cracks and their orientation. The surveys will be carried out after the driling of each hole has been completed and the water loss measurements have been carried out. It is a prerequisite for the option that the tenderer can guarantee a stable work platform for the logging.
