K-181919 Purification of PFOS-containing water

The contract for the delivery and operation of treatment plant for PFOS-containing ground water.
In a local ground water area at Oslo Airport Gardermoen some very high levels of perfluorooctane sulphonate (PFOS) have been measured, this is above a level that is acceptable. This is due to a release of PFOS-containing fire fighting foams in 2010. PFOS is a pollutant that does not break down in nature and must be removed.
The PFOS-based ground water will be captured by two pump wells and pumped to the treatment plant. The purified groundwater shall be re-infiltrated into the ground.
The purpose of the treatment plant is to reduce the level of PFOS in the ground water. The work is expected to last for about 6 years, but this is an uncertain time estimate.
The system must be operational until acceptable ground water is achieved.
The work comprises the following:
— Delivery, installation and commissioning of complete purification plant for PFOS, with requirements for processed amount up to 3 l / s and the discharge concentration of PFOS at a maximum of 300 ng / L,
— Operation of purification plant for PFOS for approx. 6 years.
The purification plant shall be supplied in, for example, containers or equivalent pre-fabricated solution. The installation shall be delivered complete with all equipment necessary to meet the requirements to treatment, waste management, sampling etc., and include internal electrical fittings for process equipment, automation, heating of container, etc. 2 ground water pumps are also included.
Award authority will themselves install pipes from ground water wells to the purification plant, and from the purification plant to the points for re-infiltration.
