Core drilling of one borehole at Moss/Rygge in Norway
On assignment from Statkraft Varme AS (hereinafter referred to as Statkraft), the Geological Survey of Norway, (NGU) will investigate the deep geothermal energy potentiality in Moss area. To reach that this objectif, NGU plans to drill one (1) 800 meter deep (optional 1000 meter) well next to Rygge Municipal House just outside Moss. The NGU shall perform geological investigations in the area, and if weak and fracture zones that can preclude the drilling operation are discovered,, the drilling site may be moved to an industrial property next to Melløs Stadium in central Moss. NGU invites competent firms to bid for this assignment.
1. Information on the drilling site.
The drilling site is located near Rygge Municipality House with coordinates are UTM 32V 596160 - 6586430. The drilling spot is located at a parking lot outside the Rygge Municipality House. Water supply is available from nearby buildings and a drainage for muddy water just near the drilling spot. The bedrock consists of Precambrian granitic gneisses partially covered by a thin layer of Quaternary sediments. NGU will undertake extensive investigations on resistivity and geological structures to locate eventual weak zones/ fractures that could cause problems during the drilling process, in which case, the drilling shall be moved to Mellos Stadium. (UTM 32v 594800 – 6587900). Here we can expect to have more mica in the gneisses.
2. Technical Description of Work.
Borehole description:
— vertical borehole down to 800 meters,
— statkraft invites an optional bid for boring down to 1 000 meter,
— minimum diameter of drillhole should be 56 mm,
— statkraft invites an optional bid for 76 mm diameter,
— drill hole casing is required in all overburden sediments,
— The borehole shall be secured with a lockable cap.
If during the drilling the Contractor meets any technical or geological problem, NGU shall be contacted immediately to discuss and decide whether to caster/case the hole or stop drilling.
The boreholes should be presented clean. Extra good flushing of the borehole will be required for 76 mm diameter that will be measured with Optical Televiewer.
A drilling report containing all drilling information about drilling speed, registration of fractures/weak zones, inflows of water from cracks, and other drilling information, is required at the end of the assignment.
Drill cores should be locked core boxes and sent to NGUs drill cores storage at Løkken in Meldal.
The Bidder shall prepare one original Bid and send it in a sealed envelope. The envelope shall then be sealed in an outer neutral envelope. The neutral sealed envelope shall be marked " Bid: STATKRAFT PROJECT " and ” Do not open before 13.8.2012”.
The shall be delivered within 13.8.2012 at 10:00 (Norwegian time) to:
The Geological Survey of Norway at the Geological Survey of Norway,
Leiv Eirikssons vei 39, N-7491 Trondheim, Norway.
The bid can also be sent by post to the Geological Survey of Norway or NGU, PO Box 6315 Sluppen, 7491 Trondheim, Norway. Bidders may though have the risk that their bids do not reach the Geological Survey of Norway's office at Leiv Eirikssons vei 39, within the deadline.
Statkraft/NGU reserve the right to reject the entire, parts of the bid or to enter into negotiation with a selection of the most relevant suppliers.
Statkraft/NGU reserve the right to ahead with new price quotations.
Electronic Invoice.
NGU requires that the suppliers of goods and services have the capacity to send their invoices and credit notes electronically in accordance with the standard "Electronic Trade Format" (Elektronisk handelsformat-EHF).
NGU uses the regulation AIS 89 'General purchasing terms for government purchases of merchandise, "available on the website
